Part 2 Putting Theory into Practice: How to incorporate technology into your curriculum development

There is no denying the rapid development of online/technology enhanced tools and applications in medical education and the emerging digital divide that often exists between faculty and students. In addition, with the growing globalization of health professions education yet continued need for interactive collaboration, technology-enhanced solutions are becoming increasingly important. This new workshop series offered by the CFD aims to help participants develop a level of comfort in the knowledge and use of technology enhanced applications in their own teaching practice.

In the first part of this exciting workshop series, attendees will be introduced to background theory and evidence-base, which will guide their future development of online education and collaborative tools. In addition, they will engage in interactive hands-on demonstrations of various technology-enhanced medical education tools and critically appraise these.

Part 2 will apply what you learned from Part 1 into practice. Attendees will be asked to bring current or proposed ideas for their own TEPHE to the workshop and will work through each step of curriculum development planning. Practical tips for development and implementation will also be discussed, including local resources, tool repositories and tool development.
